Dear Friends, Neighbors and Others,
As you know, we at the Townsville Community Center have been busy planning our annual Pot-Luck supper, slated for next month. This year’s event is being sponsored by The Townsville Bank and Loan, so everyone will receive a TB&L pen and notepad. I just wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone that we won’t be serving alcoholic beverages this year, so please leave your fine spirits at home. In case you didn’t hear, last year we all witnessed a big to-do when certain Tonwsville residents over-indulged and then for whatever reason decided to race across the lake naked. We can’t be having any of that this year! Also, I want to clear up the rumor that Mandy Wallace was one of the drunken swimmers. She was not. I only mentioned her name because she has that mayonnaise problem, and I thought we could all keep the mayonnaise-based salads down to a minimum this year.
You’ll all be thrilled to know that once again, Rose Doyle promised to make that sausage/cabbage dish a number of you found interesting. (I personally didn’t partake, so I can’t speak firsthand about the dish.)
Please start gathering at the lake no later then eleven o’clock in the morning! September 23, 2006
